The COVID-19 Epidemic is unprecedented in the modern employment world, and it has stretched the laws and imagination of employers and employees alike. It has ushered forth a robust, new discussion of everything from remote work to mandatory vaccinations and paid leave to OSHA-styled safe-place concerns in businesses really not accustomed to such discussions or concerns. What I’m trying to say is I think all of you, as human resources professionals, are underpaid in the face of the overwhelming challenges that the virus has posed. What have we learned? Where do we go from here? My one hour talk will cover the most common COVID scenarios and will try to relay some of the more creative and effective ways of dealing with them. It will also address the question du jour: To vaccinate or not to vaccinate.
Davin C Curtiss was born in Silvis, Illinois. He is a 1992 summa cum laude graduate from Marquette University and obtained his law degree with high distinction from the University of Iowa in 1995.
